On Saturday, March 24, 2018 Commerce Court switched off the lights as part of Earth Hour - a global movement to raise awareness about the need for collective action on climate change. Our Complex went dark for one hour from 8:30-9:30 p.m. joining thousands of buildings and landmarks around the world.
RESULTS
Commerce Court reduced its electricity use by 13% during Earth Hour when compared with the previous weekend's timeframe. The complex' overall electricity use during the Earth Hour weekend was reduced by 6% when compared with the previous weekend.
Earth Hour tenant Challenge - thank you!
Thank you to the Commerce Court tenants who were able to join the Earth Hour Challenge. The QuadReal Property Management team also joined the Challenge by reducing our electricity use over the Earth Hour weekend. We wish our tenants best of luck in the competition for greatest reduction.
Making the Connection
Energy use through electricity and heat production is attributed to 25% of global Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions globally. Cutting our energy use helps reduce CO2 and thus can improve the long-term effects of climate change.
